Discover Our Story
I have been interested in Russia since I was a small girl growing up in Texas. I like to say it all started with a pink bedspread that my Mother made me. The bedspread had small dolls from all over the world on it. The dolls were dressed in native costumes. All the dolls were adorable but my favorite was the Russian doll! I asked my Mother about all the dolls but paid particular attention to what she said about the Russian doll and the country she represented. Although I was only six, I became enamored with Russia and my interest in Russian culture began.
In 1976, I took my first trip to the USSR. It was a life changing trip! I found the Russian people to be very hospitable. Since that first trip, I have studied Russia and the rest of the countries of the Former Soviet Union. I have a great love and respect for the Russian people.
Dacha Tea is a fulfilment of my great interest and love for Russia and its people. I so hope you enjoy your time here and that you will visit us again. You are always welcome!
